Chardon Brewfest – On The Square!

NEW DATE, LOCATION & BREWS MAKE FOR AN EXCITING YEAR 5

A new location on Historic Chardon Square and a new summer date have organizers and area residents very excited for the 5 th annual Chardon BrewFest on Saturday, August 13.

“From the beginning it’s been a vision of ours to have BrewFest on the Square, where you can get the full Chardon experience with the courthouse and see what businesses and restaurants you can visit in town,” said head organizer Steve Turpin of Chardon Tomorrow, the non-profit that sponsors the event. “Plus, moving it more than a month earlier, should help with some of the weather we’ve seen in the past.

“Word is spreading like crazy. Social media, around town. We’re expecting a really big year.”

Of course, Turpin also knows the real attraction is the beer, and this event won’t disappoint.

From noon to 5 p.m., festival-goers will enjoy 15 pours from a selection of 25 craft brewers from Ohio and surrounding states. Bands will supply live music all day, and food will be on sale from Square Bistro, Cleats, Maple City Taps & Eatery, Morgan’s on the Square and Spinner’s Good Time Diner.

More pours? No problem, they’re sold separately. Visitors will also be happy to hear that selfies with the Historic Courthouse will be absolutely free!

Tickets can be purchased in advance online at www.chardontomorrow.org or in person at Chardon BrewWorks or Beans Coffee Shop in town. Event updates, including a brewer map and parking recommendations, can and will be found on Facebook and Twitter. Admission is $30 advance online, $25 for six or more, or $40 at the door and includes a tasting glass. Designated drivers pay $15 for a tasting glass and unlimited soft drinks.

Before sampling, at 10 a.m., some people will also “Run for Suds” in the aptly-named sister 5K, which starts and ends near Heinen’s and includes an exclusive loop around Chardon Square. BrewFest admission is included with the race registration of $30 advance online, $35 race day; or just run the race for $20 advance online, $25 race day.
