David Newyear Hired as The Geauga County Public Library’s Chardon Branch Manager

The Geauga County Public Library is pleased to announce that Mr. David Newyear has been hired as Manager of the Chardon Branch. In his position, Mr. Newyear will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the Chardon location and its 43 employees. Maintaining and growing high-quality programming remains a priority, along with developing a diverse and relevant collection of materials.

Mr. Newyear previously managed the Del City and Belle Isle libraries in Oklahoma before moving back to northeast Ohio. He gained valuable leadership experience as the Assistant Manager at Edmond Library in Oklahoma and in Ohio at Lakeland Community College Library, Perry Public Library and Mentor Public Library prior to pursuing management positions.

He holds a Master’s Degree in Library Science from Kent State University and a degree in music from Northwestern University.

“We welcome his perspective and feel fortunate to have him on board,” says GCPL Director Ed Worso.

Mr. Newyear resides in northeast Ohio with his wife and cats.
