Brighten a Senior’s Holiday with Greens for Giving on Saturday, December 2

Gather your friends and family around a great cause this holiday season – creating more than 250 evergreen decorations for Geauga County Department on Aging’s home-delivered meals for seniors!

The West Woods Nature Center will be the setting for this good work on Saturday, December 2nd, between 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Now in its fourth festive year, Greens for Giving guarantees a way to brighten a senior’s holiday season by building a thoughtful and completely unique handmade creation from scratch.

All supplies – fresh evergreens, decorations and containers – will be provided, but feel free to bring your own hand pruners and additional decorative add-ins if you’d like. Bob Rogish of Rogish Farms has once again graciously donated all greens for the event, and West Geauga’s Class Act a cappella group will also return to perform for a half hour beginning about 1:00 p.m.

“This is a great way to start your holiday season, sharing a little of your time to share holiday joy with our senior neighbors,” said Holly Sauder, outreach coordinator for the parks.

The West Woods is fully wheelchair/stroller accessible at 9465 Kinsman Road (Route 87) in Russell Township. Registration is not required to participate. Call 440-286-9516 with questions.
