Chardon Toastmasters Announces Club’s Annual International Speech and Evaluation Contest Winners

Several Toastmasters from Northeast Ohio converged on Chardon Square February 8th to support our club’s Annual International Speech and Evaluation Contests. With four contestants in each contest, the judges were put to the test to declare the winners. Chief Judge Nancy Temple said “The scoring in tonight’s contest is the closest I’ve seen in all my years in Toastmasters. The talent in this club is remarkable.” At the end of the evening, Marilyn Harman and Jim Murphy placed first and second respectively in the International Speech Contest, while Matt Everett and Jim Murphy took first and second place for the Evaluation Contest.

Marilyn Harman and Jim Murphy proudly display their 1st and 2nd Place Certificates from the Chardon Toastmasters International Speech Contest.

Sorry that you missed this? Mark your calendar to attend on March 15th when the Chardon Toastmasters host the next level of competition, the Area 20 International Speech and Evaluation contests. There will be contestants from the four Toastmasters Clubs in Area 20. The winners of these contests advance to competitions at the Division and District levels with the ultimate winner of the International Speech contest competing at the International Convention in Chicago Illinois this August.
