Sleep in Heavenly Peace is proud to announce that it has opened a Lake/Geauga Chapter in northeast Ohio. SHP is a charitable organization that makes beds for children that would otherwise be sleeping on the floor.

Brian Lach, Lake/Geauga Chapter President
“I am very proud to be a part of the great SHP family and help continue their mission. Once you deliver a bed to a child that has been sleeping on the floor, you get taken in by the joy on their faces. That boy or girl now gets to sleep in a bed, get a good night’s rest, maybe have a friend sleep over, read a book and all the other things we take for granted; but for these kids, it opens up a whole new world. Their happiness is infectious and maybe, just maybe, we’ve helped a family by making things a little bit better.” Brian Lach, Lake/Geauga Chapter President

Every child deserves to have a place to lay their head at night that is warm, soft and promotes a good night’s sleep. As we all know, sleep is critical to a child’s emotional and physical development, and we want to support them in that.
“Think of all the kids that will be reached, all the dreams that will be saved, the confidence that will be restored, the worry and stress that will be relieved. That’s what happens when a child receives a bed. That’s why we do this – for them.” – Luke Mickelson, SHP Founder
Started in 2012 by Luke Mickelson, a CNN Hero finalist for 2018, SHP works in partnership with the community and local businesses to (within a few hours and with the help of community volunteers) turn lumber into bunk beds for the children of our communities. With the mission of “No Kid Sleeps on the Floor in Our Town,” SHP then delivers those bunks, as well as mattresses, linens, pillows, and comforters, to those children who would otherwise be sleeping on the floor.
