Create something unique at one of two Nature-themed workshops coming to the Geauga Park District this fall

Two unique Nature-themed workshops are coming to Geauga Park District this fall – one repurposing your old or outdated makeups as paints, the other honoring the Ukranian legend of the Christmas spider with an ornate beaded replica!

Registration is now open at the new www.geaugaparkdistrict.org or 440-285-9616 for the following opportunities, with project examples posted of Geauga Park District’s Facebook page:

  • Friends & Wine Card-Making Workshop – Friday, October 11th from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at The West Woods, Nature Center – Fee: $14 county residents, $17 out-of-county residents
    • “Make up with your make-up” by resurrecting your blue eyeshadow and forgotten lipsticks to utilize them as paints, creating Nature-themed greeting cards with artisan Angela Giaimo. Bring outdated/unused cosmetics or use some new stock provided. Complete with snacks and wine!
  • Beaded Spider Workshop (Ages 14+) – Wednesday, October 16th from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at The West Woods, Affelder House – Fee: $33 county residents, $37 out-of-county residents
    • Join jewelry artist Fran Rafiani to learn about the Ukrainian legend of the Christmas spider and create your own 2-inch beaded arachnid utilizing copper, silver and gold colored wire and choice of assorted glass beads. Refreshments served.

Both workshops are wheelchair/stroller accessible. Please call 440-286-9516 with questions.
