The National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) proclaimed April 27 – May 4, 2025, as Stewardship Week, marking the 70th year of the national event. In celebration of Stewardship Week, Geauga Soil and Water Conservation District will be sponsoring a Poster Contest. Corresponding with stewardship week the theme is “Home is Where the Habitat is.” Join us in recognizing the importance of these habitats year-round, as we work together to ensure their health and resilience for future generations. Let’s continue our efforts to make a lasting impact on both natural and managed environments.
The purpose of the contest is to encourage in our youth a connection to the important benefit of protecting our soil and water resources. All students from public, private, and home schools are encouraged to enter. Posters must measure 14 inches x 22 inches. Digital posters (photographs or scanned copies of the hand drawn posters in a png/jpeg format) will be accepted. Digital submissions must be clear and well-framed.
Empowering All Voices. Introducing the NACD Braille Poster Contest; this inclusive competition invites blind and low-vision students in grades K-12 to participate. Contestants may use braille as well as written lettering and art to create posters that champion natural resource conservation, ensuring equal opportunities for all students, regardless of their visual abilities.
Additional Assist Poster Contest. The Additional Assist Poster Contest is open to all students who may benefit from additional assistance in completing their posters. This contest promotes accessibility and embraces diversity by providing a platform for students of varying abilities to express their creativity and advocate for natural resource conservation.
