A Peek At Preserved Property

Explore a currently restricted future park

Want a peek at some incredible preserved property? Here’s a chance to take in the variety of peaceful wetland habitats, plants, and animals at Pine Brook Preserve, a location to one day join the ranks of your open Geauga Park District parks.

Exploring the Wetlands of Pine Brook will take place on Sunday, October 7 from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at Pine Brook Preserve, Montville Township.

Registration is required or 440-286-9516 for this visit. Directions will be provided upon registration.

Because the program will consist mostly of off-trail hiking with carpooling between sites, hiking boots (and cameras) are recommended. Dress for the weather, and expect no indoor facilities.

Along the way, Naturalist Judy Bradt-Barnhart will guide participants to discuss the geologic reasons for the numerous wetlands found here, share several rare plants, watch for wildlife on the open water, and learn how modern technology was used to protect the wetlands from the encroaching invasive phragmites reed grass.

If you love exploring beautiful areas, reserve your spot now for this Nature’s Not to Be Missed adventure in the Geauga County wilderness.

Geauga Park District is online, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.
