Academic Decathlon Team Takes Home Runner-Up Trophy

The Chardon High School Academic Decathlon team took the runner-up trophy in the large school division at the state competition held at Lake Erie College on Saturday, March 1, 2014. Chardon will move on to represent Ohio in the US Academic Decathlon online national competition in April.

The team credits much of their success this year to a grant from the Chardon Schools Foundation that allowed them to purchase electronic study materials.

Team members include (L to R) Jackie Schlag, Ray Bender, Erin Grantham, Kirsten Goodge, Katie Goodge, Danny Kirchner, Dakota Rumford, David Nedrow (alternate), Jem Shaffer, Jessica Gehring, James Brookshire (alternate), Gwen Norsic (Alternate), and Mr. Allen Herner (advisor)
