Recently, the Aktion Club sent care packages to United States soldiers currently serving in Afghanistan. The packages included items such as hand and foot warmers, toiletries, snacks and homemade thank you cards. The care packages were delivered in October. As a way of saying thank you, David Mallen from the United States Army sent a letter to the Aktion Club, thanking them for their care packages.

In his letter, David writes: “I wanted to personally thank you and all of the members of the club who took the time to send care packages to me to distribute to our troops. You have no idea how small items boost someone’s day, especially when they are so far from home.”

David Mallen and Lieutenant Colonel Robert Davel sent the Aktion Club a United States flag with a certificate that confirms the flag was flown over Camp Integrity, an American compound in Afghanistan. The certificate states that the flag was flown on October 31, 2014.

Later in David’s letter, he states: “By the time you receive this, I should be safely at home back in Florida. My time working overseas has come to an end. I’ve spent the last five years supporting our troops and training foreign police and military how to conduct foreign examinations….thank you for supporting us and taking the time and effort to send us packages. Your kindness will be forever remembered.”
