Vinny’s Authentic Italian Eatery Hosts Pizza Making Party for CMS Students

A big thank you to Middlefield favorite, Vinny’s Authentic Italian Eatery, for providing all of our CMS summer readers with a $5 gift card! Students were able to use the gift cards on Monday, September 12th, for a pizza making party at Vinny’s in celebration of their reading work over the summer. Students got a behind the scenes look at how the pizzas are made in the kitchen, and then tried their hand at making their own. Students who were unable to make it to the pizza making party can use their gift cards anytime. Thank you Vinny’s for the great treat and congratulations students on your outstanding summer reading accomplishments!

Scientific Principles Come to Life with Experiments

Mr. Bronson’s 8th grade science classes are experimenting again – this time with Galileo’s incline plane principle. Students worked to replicate the idea by finding that the distance the ball rolled would be proportional to the time it took to roll, squared. Students also used various masses and angles for the desk to show that gravity is constant. The hands on experience is beneficial to helping students better understand these scientific principles!
