ALMOST HOWL-O-WEEN TIME – Seasonal hikes for dogs (with humans) scheduled for October, December

Parade through the park this fall accompanied by your favorite pooch and other folks who love their pups!

Costumes (dog and/or human) are optional, but registration is required, for the Howl-o-ween Hound Hike on Friday, October 28, from 2 to 4 p.m. along Headwaters Park’s easy Ohio Buckeye Trail. To sign up, head to geaugaparkdistrict.org or call 440-286-9516.

Also this fall, register for the Hound Hike on Saturday, December 10, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Swine Creek Reservation.

Before coming out, please pack your own bowl with water, poop scoop or bags for clean-up, and towels for paws before they reach the car seats. Hosted entirely outdoors by Naturalist Karie Wheaton, Geauga Park District’s Hound Hikes are enjoyable for all as long as rules are followed. Only one dog is permitted to attend per handler, pets must be kept under control at all times on a leash not exceeding eight feet, and participants displaying aggression or excessive barking will be asked to leave.
