Cleveland author Dan Chaon visits the Club Ink writing workshop at the Chardon Branch, Wednesday, October 4th at 7:00 p.m. to discuss how authors develop characters and plots while following these emerging ideas. This event is free and open to members of the Club Ink writing workshop as well as the general public. Mac’s Backs-B00ks will be on site to sell books, which are available for signing after the event. Registration required.
Chaon, a professor and the director of the Creative Writing Program at Oberlin College, is a national best-selling author of novels and short stories. He has won an Academy Award in Literature and was a finalist for the Story Prize, the Shirley Jackson Award, the National Book Award, and the National Magazine Award in Fiction. Chaon’s works include: Ill Will, Await Your Reply (his national bestseller), Among the Missing, and others. His writing has been included in Best American Short Stories, the Pushcart Prize Anthologies, and the O. Henry Prize Stories.
Chaon’s newest novel, Ill Will, is set to become a limited television series with Buster Productions. Chaon has signed on as writer, executive producer, and creator of this series. He also has a new two-book deal with Henry Holt & Co. publishing.
