Find the birds without the huge crowd of birders on Blackbrook Audubon’s trip to Sheldon Marsh State Nature Preserve Saturday, May 18th. The Biggest Week in American Birding will be history for this year, but warblers, flycatchers and thrushes are still on their way north to nesting territories. Meet at 2715 Cleveland Rd. W., Huron 44839 at 8:00 a.m.
Sheldon Marsh SNP offers flat trails through woodlands along marshy areas of the Lake Erie shoreline. Spring wildflowers also abound here, so remember to look down as well as up! As time and interest permit, the group may travel to the Marblehead Peninsula in search of more migrants and shorebirds at Meadowbrook Marsh, East Harbor State Park and other sites. Participants will gather at a local restaurant for lunch.
