You can take part in Kids in the Snow, a morning of family-friendly activities focused on finding signs of life in winter, on March 7 at Western Reserve Land Conservancy’s Conservation Center in Moreland Hills.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the center, 3850 Chagrin River Road. Parking is in the back of the building.

Children, parents and grandparents will learn how to build nest boxes for the colorful Prothonotary Warbler with Dan Best, senior naturalist for the Geauga Park District. Best will give a short presentation on the warbler and lead a hands-on warbler nest box workshop (supplies will be provided). Participants will then head outside for a demonstration on how to install a nest box, followed by a hike to look for other wildlife tracks.

This event, which is part of the Land Conservancy’s Kids In! series and is geared for children ages 6-14, will take place with or without snow. Please dress for the weather. There is no charge to participate; donations are appreciated.

Registration is limited. Please RSVP by February 27 to Emily Bacha at ebacha@wrlandconservancy.org or (440) 528-4178.
