If You Build It, They Will Come . . . Attend the “Make a Bluebird House” Workshop at Big Creek Park Just in Time for Spring!

As early as March, bluebirds begin searching for a place to nest. They will readily accept man-made boxes put out for them, but it is important to know that you must monitor your boxes in order for your bluebirds to be successful.

Throw the welcome mat down in 2018 by building a bluebird house during the Make a Bluebird House workshop on Saturday, March 3rd, 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Big Creek Park.

For just $10, we’ll lead you in creating a hospitable bird house that you will then take home for placement, plus give you pointers on being a responsible bluebird landlord, including where and how to place your box, what other species could potentially move in, and how to keep your nesters safe!

Registration is required at Geauga Park District or 440-286-9516, which may also be called with questions. Participants should register “per house” rather than “per person.” Big Creek Park’s Meyer Center, located at 9160 Robinson Road in Chardon Township, is fully wheelchair/stroller accessible.
