For the third year in a row, Burton Elementary volunteers were recognized at a special breakfast for their work in the Job and Family Services (JFS) Tutoring program. The volunteers worked with approximately 275 students each week and donated over 705 hours of their time to our students. Individual and small group tutoring at various grade levels was provided. All of the volunteers expressed a desire to return next school year.
This program would not be possible without Sara Shininger, the Community Support/Volunteer Coordinator at JFS of Geauga County. Special thanks to Mrs. Randles and Mrs. Metzung for their coordination of the program at Burton Elementary. Thank you to our volunteers: Steve Mann, Sheila Krok, Carol Sweeney, Janet Coyne, Kathy Koch, Jim Murphy, Joanne Graham, and Tim McLaughlin.
