As the County’s Dog Shelter, we take in stray dogs throughout all of Geauga County. While many are lucky enough to go home, many others are available for adoption after their 72 hour hold is over. All dogs are spayed or neutered and vaccinated before going home with their new family.
In addition, when space allows, we pull dogs from overcrowded shelters in surrounding counties and place them in loving homes. Very often, a dog will need additional medical care. What many people do not realize is that the shelter operates based on dog license fees, donations and fundraisers only.
September 20th, 21st & 22nd is our 5th Annual Garage Sale and Raffle Basket Fundraiser.

- For our residents – please consider making a tax deductible donation. We are currently accepting items for the sale. Please no clothing or large items that can not go home in a vehicle. Donations can be dropped off at the shelter during business hours. The shelter is located at 12513 Merritt Road, Chardon.
