Calling anyone who has ever been inspired by Nature: Geauga Park District is now accepting entries into its 29thAnnual Nature Writing Contest – Nature-inspired poetry and prose by creative writers of any age, be they experienced writers or complete amateurs. Let Nature inspire you this month and get writing…you never know where creativity will get you!
Everything you need to know (and share with your Nature-loving friends) is included in the contest application available at www.geaugaparkdistrict.org
Entries must be received by Earth Day, Monday, April 22, to qualify. Age categories are adult (age 18+), adolescent (ages 12-17) and child (ages 11 and under) in both poetry and prose.
Upon winning, writers earn cash prizes (sponsored again in great part by the Foundation for Geauga Parks); invitation to a special winners celebration July 9 at Claridon Woodlands; publication in our winners chapbook and www.geaugaparkdistrict.org; and mention in the Park District’s summer activity guide, reaching more than 42,000 Geauga households.
Last year’s contest attracted a record-breaking 222 entries! Questions? Email Sandy at sward@geaugaparkdistrict.org — and to all those who enter, good luck!
