Now in its 6th year of operation, Geauga Growth Partnership (GGP) welcomes the Geauga business community to attend the GGP Annual Partnership Meeting on Wednesday, June 22, 2016, 7:30-10:00 AM at the Sisters of Notre Dame Education Center, 13000 Auburn Road, Chardon. This Free breakfast meeting will feature Mr. Dennis E. Eckart as the Keynote speaker, who will speak to the future of economic development in Northeast Ohio in his message “Where Do We Go From Here.”
“We are very excited to have Dennis as our keynote speaker this year,” says GGP President Tracy Jemison. “He is keenly attuned to Northeast Ohio’s Economic climate as well as the needs of our businesses and education community.”
Following nearly 20 years of public service in the Ohio House of Representatives and the U.S. House of Representatives, Mr. Eckart served as President and CEO of the Greater Cleveland Growth Association (2000-2003), the forerunner of the Greater Cleveland Partnership, and in 2010 was instrumental in encouraging the development of Geauga Growth Partnership. In 2007, Dennis Eckart was appointed to the Kent State University Board of Trustees by Gov. Ted Strickland.
In addition to a brief business meeting, updates on youth workforce education and the keynote message, the program will include a presentation of this year’s Frank Samuel Distinguished Service award to Mr. Jay Giles, whose contributions to Geauga Growth Partnership and the greater Geauga County community spans decades.
Geauga Growth Partnership was founded in September 2010 as a 501 (C) 3 non-profit organization, as a means to support economic development and help strengthen businesses in Geauga County through education, business attraction and retention.
