The 2018 Geauga Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) Camp Canopy scholarship winner, Calahan Heiss of Burton (Berkshire Jr/Sr High School), presented a summary of his learning experiences and camp adventures to the Geauga SWCD Board of Supervisors at their July meeting. Calahan received scholarship funding to attend this summer’s Camp Canopy, held at Camp Muskingum in Carrollton. Since 2012 the District’s scholarship program has enabled 16 Geauga County students to attend this unique, weeklong camp promoting the wise use of Ohio’s forests and natural resources.
