Ridgeview Farm in Mesopotamia will be hosting the Annual Fall Fun Weekends starting September 29 until October 28, 2012, every Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. The Farm is located in Mesopotamia Township, 3½ miles East of Middlefield on State Route 87 (5488 Kinsman Rd, Middlefield, OH 44062). There is no admission charge to the farm.
“We want the public to come out and Capture the Fall before it leaves,” says Steve Grover, farmer.
The farm offers hayrides, an 8 acre corn maze, sand box, petting barn, and pick your own pumpkin. New to the farm this year are two corn cannons. Visitors can shoot ears of corn at targets located in the fields.
Also back by popular demand are the Pig Races. The pig races are held at the farm every Saturday & Sunday. Race time is 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. People have seen horses run for the roses, the dogs run for the rabbit, and now the pigs will run for the Amish cookies. “The pigs are smart. They know there is a cookie at the end of the track,” smiles Grover .
Enjoy the fall splendor and spectacular 30 mile view as you take a ride on the hayride through the fields. “We are one of the highest points in Trumbull County,” says Grover. The farm offers the following special events on Saturdays in October.
Oct 4 – Native American Indians Dance with the Indians at 1 p.m. & 3 p.m.
Oct 13 – Decorate Pumpkins to take home.
Oct 20 – Pioneer Days – Step back in time! Pioneer housekeeping demonstrations, candle dipping, old fashioned games.
The Grover’s ask groups of 25 or more to please call ahead for reservations.
