Zemelka sign letter of intent

It’s official! In the first ever National Signing Day event for football at Cardinal High School, Senior Brant Zemelka signs his commitment to play football at Tiffin University.

Surrounded by family and friends, Zemelka signed his National Letter of Intent Wednesday, February 4, in the front entrance of Cardinal High School. After signing his name to his Letter of Intent, Zemelka said, “It feels great. I knew I wanted to be there [Tiffin University] when I met the coaches, this just feels right for me.”

Zemelka is a three-year letterman who served as Captain for the CHS Varsity football team in 2014. He played both sides of the ball, serving as a running back on offense, and safety on defense, where he was the second leading tackler for the team. In addition to team honors, Zemelka also received county and conference honors in 2014 being named to the 1st Team Geauga County Touchdown Club – All County Small School Defense, and 2nd Team All CVC – Metro Valley Division for Defense.

Academically, Zemelka serves as Senior Class President and is a member of the National Honor Society. Tiffin University has also awarded him with a Trustee Scholarship for the upcoming year. Zemelka’s mother, Yvette, says the family is extremely excited and proud of Brant’s accomplishments and adds, “We can’t wait to see him play at the next level. We plan on being at every Tiffin game!”
