Third graders in Mrs. Tropf’s Science classes became “Soil Sleuths” for a day!

Gail Prunty, from the Geauga Soil & Water Conservation District, spent time with all of the classes Dec. 1, talking to them about the different types of soil (sand, silt, and clay), their properties, how water moves through each layer, and how soil changes over time.

Students even got some hands on experience too when they had to determine which type of soil was in containers by feeling the contents!
