April is officially Ohio Native Plant Month and you can add more native trees and shrubs to your yard with Geauga Soil and Water Conservation District’s Spring Tree Sale! Ohio has nearly 1,900 native plants – including trees, shrubs, perennials, vines, and grasses. Native trees and shrubs are abundant in benefits as they absorb stormwater, prevent flooding, improve soil health, remove air pollutants, sequester carbon, sustain wildlife, and feed the bees and critters that pollinate most of our food crops. This year’s tree sale offers a streamlined selection of both bareroot seedlings and 1 – 3 gallon container native trees and shrubs. From Blackgum to River Birch and Spicebush to Scarlet Oak, this year’s selection is colorful, affordable, and suitable to a wide variety of landscaping needs.
