Over 26 people recently gathered for a spouses meeting of the Chardon Kiwanis Club, which was held at the Chardon Heinen’s.

The meeting was an informative evening with friends and a presentation by Betty Kimbrew, Executive Director of Lake Geauga Habitat for Humanity.

The presentation included a compressive discussion of Habitat for Humanity’s work to provide decent, safe, and affordable place to live for families of Lake and Geauga County. This is accomplished through non-profit mortgages on homes either built or renovated in both counties. All applicants are welcome as long as they meet income requirements and show an ability to pay.

“Habitat for Humanity has a great goal of encouraging responsible citizenship through home ownership,” said President of the Kiwanis Club of Chardon, Mary Bramstedt. “I very proud that we have such a great organization in our area.”

Everyone is encouraged to attend any meeting or activity of the club to learn about our mission to improve our world one child at a time. To find out more about the club or upcoming events, please visit kiwanisclubofchardon.org or call 440-537-7316.
