Chardon Kiwanis Back from the Winter!

CHARDON, OHIO – The Kiwanis Club of Chardon suspended meetings in December due to the COVID virus but is now meeting again. The club met in April, May, and will meet in June at Buckeye Chocolate Café in Chardon and conducted business from its community meeting room.

In the months of April & May the club did accomplish quite a bit and will do more in June. The club discussed the recent efforts of the Builders club of Chardon Middle School to collect over 300 rolls of paper towels to donate to Rescue Village. Additionally, the Kiwanis decided to make a donation toward the Chardon 4th of July Fireworks. In addition, the club picked scholarship recipients, which were announced at a Senior Award Night, and will be awarded at the Kiwanis July picnic to be held at Big Creek Park. In June, the club hopes to focus on increasing membership.

“Even though it has been somewhat harder to help the community during COVID-19 it is still possible” said club President, Jim Rayl. “If someone likes to meet local Kiwanians while helping to save the world one child at a time, they could start by coming to the regular meetings on 6/3 and 6/17 at Buckeye.”

The Kiwanis Club of Chardon would always like to invite you to join them at a future meeting or event. For more information about the Chardon Kiwanis, please visit www.kiwanisclubofchardon.org or call 440-537-4718.
