Chardon Tomorrow to Host a Can’t-Miss Event

BrewFest 2015 is shaping up as one of the biggest, most fun late-summer festivals for miles around!

Five new breweries will be participating: Homestead, Millersburg, DuClaw, Platform Beer Co., and Mt. Carmel. Beer aficionados will have the chance to sample more than 70 craft brews from some of Ohio’s finest breweries and several other states during the fourth annual Chardon BrewFest.

Scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 19, the festival will be held from noon to 5 p.m. on the grounds of the Eltech Building, 100 7th Ave, located off Route 44 six miles south of I-90.

Nationwide Insurance, courtesy of DiFranco Insurance in Chardon, is providing the Nationwide Dale Earnhardt Jr 88 Show car display this year. The display includes the NASCAR and a race car driving simulator. The race simulator is free to all ticketholders. Tickets may be purchased via Eventbrite online or purchased at any of these local businesses: Beans Coffee Shop and Bistro, Chardon BrewWorks, Geauga Music Center, and DiFranco Insurance. Advance admission is $25 that includes 15 tastings and a beer tasting glass. The price will be $35 on the day of the event. Designated drivers admission is $10. Designated drivers will receive a mug and unlimited soft drinks.

Miserable Idiot, Sorta Blues, and Stray Louie will provide live music. Food will be available from Chardon area restaurants including: Cleats, Maple City Taps & Eatery, Morgan’s on the Square, and Square Bistro. Chardon Tomorrow will be selling poached bratwurst with gourmet mustard. Balloon man Dave, corn hole, a 50-50 raffle, and other entertainment will also be featured. The event, organized by Chardon Tomorrow, will feature 25 microbrewers.

The event kicks off with the second annual Chardon BrewFest 5k, Run for Suds, which begins at 10 a.m. Race day registration is from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. at Heinen’s, located at 402 Center Street. The run will wind through downtown Chardon and will end near the BrewFest site. Cost to enter the race is $15 in advance and $20 on race day. A combined run and BrewFest ticket is $25 in advance and $30 on race day.  The race/BrewFest package includes 6 tastings and a tasting glass.
