If you’re the parents of a preschooler, after you all fill your tummies with our famous Geauga County pancakes appearing in March, toddle on over to Miss Car’s Studio in Burton for a visit to her Preschool Open House. You can chat with Miss Car and learn about Preschool smARTs, a very unique program she has developed, while your little ones play in her creative learning areas.

You’ll be impressed with the organization of her large, visually stimulating facility and be delighted to hear about her refreshing teaching/learning philosophy. Having known Carlene for at least 25 years, and seeing the positive contribution she has made on my own seven children, gives me the right to brag on her behalf!
Currently, preschool classes are offered Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to noon with options of attending once a week, twice a week, or three days a week.
Children will develop lifelong learning skills in reading, writing, science and math through ART, Music, Creative Movement, and of course FUN! The program is hands on and designed for the individual child because every child learns at his or her own pace. Consistency is important for your child.

You may also want to join in the up coming “FUN”– raiser events Carlene has planned which will raise money for the playground she is going to build on the property.
Patterned after the TV show “Chopped,” each artist will have to create something original from a mystery box of art supplies. Ages 10 and up are welcome. There is also a separate category just for professional artists. Winners receive free art classes, including a grand prize of one full year! Who needs to pay for art school when they could win a free year’s worth of instruction!
