Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad (CVSR) is pleased to announce that the popular Dinner on the Train series will return in June. Tickets for June and July dates will go on sale Friday, March 8th at 10:00 a.m.
Dinner on the Train has become a staple event for CVSR and will take place every Friday from June 7th to October 25th. Passengers will board the vintage California Zephyr Silver Solarium and Silver Lariat train cars to enjoy four-courses of executive chef prepared food. A complimentary bar is available for guests and wine will be poured throughout the courses.
From June to October, passengers will enjoy four courses of cuisine, prepared by Nomad Culinary, as the landscape of Cuyahoga Valley National Park rolls by. Menus change bi-weekly and a vegetarian/vegan option is available for substitution upon request.
“Dinner on the Train has been received very well, so we added more dates to accommodate the demand,” said CVSR President & CEO Joe Mazur. “To be able to provide an experience of this caliber in an unparalleled setting is remarkable; we’re honored to do so while sharing the rich history of our recently acquired California Zephyr cars,” said Mazur.
Head Chef, Chris Kafcsak, started Nomad Culinary in 2012 and utilizes fresh ingredients that are in season to ensure that the best quality of food is made from scratch. Kafcsak is an active member of the Culinary Advisory Panel of Cuyahoga Community College and sits on the Culinary Council for Cleveland Eats.
“We’re looking forward to sharing our food style with passengers in such a unique environment, such as the California Zephyr cars,” said Kafcsak. “We are constantly inspired by our guests to evolve and create new recipes and are looking forward to serving guests while embarking on a historic railway adventure,” said Kafcsak.
Dinner on the Train tickets for June 7 – July 26 will go on sale Friday, March 8th at 10:00 a.m. and are expected to sell quickly. The dining excursion departs from Rockside Station at 7:30 p.m. Guests may board at 7:00 p.m. to enjoy a signature cocktail, appetizers and view the recently acquired 1940’S California Zephyr train cars. The train will depart at 7:30 p.m. Passengers can expect the train ride to last two hours.
Tickets are $115 per person for seating in the Vista Dome observation car and $105 per person for first class seating in the lower lounge dining section. Ticket includes complimentary bar service, two-hour train ride and four-course dinner. Tickets can be purchased at cvsr.org/dinner-on-the-train or by calling 1-800-468-4070 x1.
