Congratulations to Judy Lasco on her Promotion to Manager at Geauga County Public Library’s Chardon Branch!

Geauga County Public Library is pleased to announce that Judy Lasco has been promoted to the position of Manager at GCPL’s Chardon Branch.

In her new position, Ms. Lasco will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the building and its 30 employees. Maintaining and growing high-quality programming remains a priority, along with developing a diverse and relevant collection of materials.

Ms. Lasco brings a varied and practical skillset to her position. She has a degree in economics from Montana State University and accounting experience at General Electric. In 2005, she discovered an affinity for libraries and public service while working at GCPL’s Middlefield Branch as a Youth Services Assistant. She enjoyed her work so much that she pursued a Master’s degree in library science from Kent State University and became head of Youth services at the Chardon Branch in 2011.

“I really enjoy the Chardon community,” Ms. Lasco says. “I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know the people here and developing programs that match their needs. It’s great to have the opportunity to interact with families and provide library services and collection items that make a difference.”

An outdoor enthusiast, Ms. Lasco is an avid gardener and enjoys camping, hiking and kayaking. She is also a Sunday school teacher and Girl Scout volunteer.

“Judy has proven she can lead effectively,” says GCPL Director Ed Worso. “She’s also held duties as co-building manager for the past several months. She is an asset to our team as we work on strengthening community connections.”
