4-H Giggles n’ Stitches Club at the State Fair


On July 20th, the Gardiner Center on Bainbridge Road was used for the Geauga County 4-H judging of multiple categories of clothing and sewing projects. After judging, on a Carnival themed stage, each member modeled their project, showing off their hard work and dedication.

Participants ranged in age from elementary school students to high school students in a variety of sewing projects. The 4-H Giggles ā€˜n Stitches Club would like to acknowledge the perseverance and diligence of all of its Members. There were many exceptional winners.

Our winners who qualified for the State Fair were Audrey Knaus from “Terrific Tops”, Samantha Sunderhaft from “Clothing for Middle School”, Hannah Cooper from “Loungewear Junior”, Rebecca Zallar from “Ready, Set, Sew Active!”, Dorothy Hernandez from “Shopping Savvy Senior”, Rebecca Turpin from “Sew Fun Juniors”, Christina Cherney from “Sew Fun Seniors”, Margaret Zallar from “You Can Quilt Junior”, Rebecca Zallar from “Self-Determined Quilts Junior” and Emily Tessean from “Self-Determined Quilts Senior”. All State Fair winners also received an Outstanding of the Day.

Others received alternate to the State Fair like Sara Turpin from “Creative Costumes”, Helena Haar from “Sew for Others Junior” and Mary Kit Murray from “Sundresses and Jumpers”. All Alternates also received an Outstanding of the Day.

Isabelle Violette also received an Outstanding of the Day for “Sundress and Jumpers”, while Elliana Majors and Selah Rose Milko received Outstanding of the Day in “Sew Fun Juniors”.

A special thank you to the Giggles nā€™ Stitches Fashion Board Members Samantha Sunderhaft, Emily Tessean and Rebecca Zallar for all their hard work in planning, organizing and announcing at the Style Show.
