Dangers of Texting & Driving
Chardon High School has been providing the “Dangers of Texting & Driving” courses to all current juniors and seniors during English classes. The lessons have been created and implemented by Officer Shaw, the school resource officer. Students have been exposed to signs in the hallways, morning video announcements, and a visit by the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles, who set up in our cafeteria during lunch. Officer Shaw has also spent several days in our AP Physics classes presenting crash investigation techniques and how law enforcement officers use physics to determine cause of accidents.

Team members included from left, Jeffery Fletcher, Laney McBean, Zoe Shive and Jessica Drake. They competed against fourteen other teams and received trophies which were the highest reward possible to earn. It really showed the power of parents, students, and teachers working together, and it was a wonderful accomplishment for our students.
