Don’t Let Limited Mobility Stop You

Geauga Park District offers EZ Go Cart tours at 4 parks this spring

In keeping with its mission to connect all Geauga County residents with Nature, Geauga Park District continues to offer its new trail vehicle, introduced in 2012, for park patrons with limited mobility.

Reservations are required at 440-279-0880 to join a trained volunteer for interpretive half-hour rides on the five-person EZ Go Cart. This season’s rides are available the following dates and times:

Wednesday, May 15, 10 a.m. to noon – Headwaters Park

Thursday, May 30, 10 a.m. to noon – Frohring Meadows

Wednesday, June 12, 10 a.m. to noon – Orchard Hills Park

Sunday, June 23, 1 to 4 p.m. – Observatory Park

Naturalist Services Director Diane Valen recalls the value of the EZ Go Cart demonstrated at Observatory Park’s grand opening in August. “Grandkids climbed aboard to share an outdoor adventure with grandparents who previously had to sit and wait as their families took to the trails,” she said. “It’s nice to see spouses and families who face challenges every day due to mobility issues be able to overcome barriers and engage in nature activities together.”
