Meet your native dragonflies and damsels at The Rookery

If you’ve ever observed a dragonfly or damselfly in Nature, surely you understand the allure of spending a little more time with these amazing, iridescent insects.

Register today (before limited space runs out) to Naturalist Linda Gilbert for a dragon-hunting experience you won’t soon forget: Dragon Hunting at The Rookery on Saturday, August 8, 1 to 2:30 p.m.

Naturalist Linda is Geauga Park District’s resident expert on these fascinating critters, and she will fuel your interest, too, with detail about their behaviors and ways to observe them.

Of course a dragonfly program wouldn’t be complete without some up-close viewing, too – so you’ll have the opportunity to use Park District nets to try to catch some yourself!

After pre-registering, please also remember to bring binoculars, sunscreen, water, sturdy shoes for off-trail “hunting,” and a camera, if you’d like. Social distancing will be practiced, and face coverings are recommended due to COVID-19. Thank you for understanding!
