Calling our experienced kayakers: take a rugged but rewarding kayak trip to a remote, seldom-seen wild marsh and lake accessed from the Upper Cuyahoga River during Geauga Park District’s upcoming Lost Lake Kayak Expedition!
Registration is required starting April 28th at www.geaugaparkdistrict.org or 440-286-9516 for this expedition taking place on Sunday, May 5th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Upon registration, you’ll be able to choose whether to bring your own kayak or borrow one of ours. Then meet us at the Route 87 parking lot just east of Burton Village on the banks of the Upper Cuyahoga River; the dirt lot is located on the south side of Route 87 just west of Gingrich Road.
This location has historically been called Lost Lake, though nowadays people call it Sperry Pond. Participants must be 16 or older, bring spare clothes and water, and come prepared for the probability of wading, muddy portages, climbing over felled trees and other obstacles – not for the inexperienced!
