Feast your eyes on the Fall Colors when you head out for an adventure in the Geuaga Park District

Head out for an adventure with this season’s best feature

So many hikes in Geauga Park District will take you to beautiful fall color locales.

Chief Naturalist recommends Burton Wetlands Nature Preserve the first weeks of October to see the bog surrounding the lake ablaze in full color.

“Typically the bog turns to fall about two or so weeks before the forests surrounding it,” John said. “Around October 15th is when the rest of Burton Wetlands’ forested areas bloom with awesome hues.”

Other naturalist-recommended fall color parks, around mid-October, are the new Veterans Legacy Woods, Bass Lake Preserve, Walter C. Best Wildlife Preserve, Frohring Meadows, Headwaters Park and Swine Creek Reservation.

And for those who want a little more guidance, Geauga Park District’s naturalists have also scheduled some special fall color experiences just for you. Please remember that registration is required for them all at www.geaugaparkdistrict.org or 440-286-9516; the canoe float requires telephone registration beginning October 4.
