Chagrin Falls, Ohio – There is nothing that says summer like cooking with fresh herbs. The folks at Lowe’s Greenhouse want to help you take full advantage of all the healthy and tasty benefits available from the garden harvest. Join them as they celebrate summertime fun with cooking demonstrations, kids’ activities, tasty treats and a $1000 COOKING COMPETITION.
The festival will be on June 25 & 26.
Submit your favorite recipe for a recipe collection to hand out during the festival by June 19th. It must contain basil, and can be a hot or cold dish, a dessert, drink or appetizer. The top ten will be selected, and if yours is one of them you will win a $25 Lowe’s Greenhouse gift certificate!

Saturday
• 9-10 Learn about the basics of growing basil and other popular herbs as well as harvesting/storing
• 11-12 Kids decorate pots and plant them with vegetables
• 11-1 Mazzulo’s cooking demonstrations & tastings using Basil and other fresh herbs
• 1-2 Olive Scene demonstrations & tastings using basil
• 5-7 Basil festival happy hour with our celebrity judges and cooking competition contestants
Sunday
• 1:00 Basil & fresh herb cooking contest! Come enjoy some wonderful dishes and judge the winners!! Recipes will contain basil and can be hot or cold dishes, drinks, desserts or appetizers.
• 2-3 Kids decorate pots and plant them with vegetables
