FirstEnergy Executive to Speak on Energy Costs at Punderson

Trent Smith, Vice President for Sales and Marketing of FirstEnergy Solutions, will speak to a Geauga Growth Partnership (GGP) audience on the factors affecting businesses’ energy costs. The event will take place at Punderson State Park Lodge on Thursday, November 14, at 8:00 a.m. Smith was formerly the President of The Illuminating Company whose service territory includes Geauga County.

Smith will discuss electricity prices and what we can expect tomorrow and in the coming years. His presentation will cover new and increasing environmental mandates, an abundance of natural gas, energy efficiency requirements, and low growth in demand as a few of the many factors that are having a significant impact on the region’s electric market. Smith will talk about how these factors influence today’s electric prices and help shed some light on future electricity prices.

Smith’s presentation is part of a continuing series of educational events for GGP Members and Geauga businesses sponsored by GGP’s Power Quality Task Force chaired by John Epprecht (Great Lakes Cheese).
