Habitats Revisited Van Trip – Hyde Property (School age and up)
Saturday, Feb. 20, 1:30 – 4:30 p.m., departs from The West Woods in Russell Twp.
The first of four trips planned to this property in 2016. Aligning with our new Come Home theme, a variety of habitats on this trip will provide an opportunity to explore and observe the seasonal changes in our local plant and animal life. You’ll want to dress for the weather for this one. The terrain is fairly flat and open, but walking could be a challenge in the event of deep snow, so boots are recommended, or snowshoes in case of significant snow cover.
Lake Erie Birds & Ice Bus Trip! (Adults)
Saturday, Feb. 27, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., departs from The West Woods in Russell Twp.
Join us for a ride to Headlands Beach State Nature Preserve in search of hardy winter birds and amazing ice formations! Again, you’ll want to dress for the weather, being prepared for the cold and potentially strong winds near the lake. Also please bring a snack and water.
Registration is limited and required for all of these trips or by calling 440-286-9516, which may also be contacted with questions. None are wheelchair/stroller accessible; however, those with mobility issues are welcome to caravan behind to view from their own vehicles.
