Free Tree-Care Workshops Offered at Holden Arboretum

Want to learn more about tree planting and care at the neighborhood level?

Join arborists from Holden Arboretum and Western Reserve Land Conservancy for a free volunteer training workshop from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, March 28 at Holden, 9550 Sperry Road, Kirtland.

Participants will learn about urban and community forestry and volunteerism at the neighborhood level. Topics will include tree biology and identification, pruning, planting, root and soil care, urban tree stress, community planning and needs, and service learning opportunities.

Holden Arboretum, the Land Conservancy and the city of Cleveland are partnering on an effort to restore Cleveland’s depleted tree canopy. This is one of a series of Tree Steward training workshops offered as part of the Reforest Our City program.
