GCPL’s Sarah Wilsman to Serve on Ohio Library Council

Sarah WilsmanSMALL in postGeauga County Public Library is pleased to announce that Bainbridge Youth Services Head Sarah Wilsman has been elected to The Northeast Action Council for the Ohio Library Council. OLC is a statewide professional association, which represents Ohio’s public libraries, their trustees, friends and staffs with a goal of safeguarding their interests. The Northeast Action Council helps select quality programs and offers events and networking in a 12-county region including Geauga. Ms. Wilsman’s one-year term begins in September.

“I’m excited for this opportunity,” Wilsman says. “Helping promote libraries throughout the state is important. When numerous library systems share ideas, we all benefit. Geauga is a strong library and I’m looking forward to sharing our vision with our neighbors as well as learning from libraries throughout northeast Ohio.”

Ms. Wilsman became the Youth Services Head at Bainbridge Library in January 2015. Prior to GCPL, she worked at the Kent Free Library for seven years, with her most recent position there as Youth Services Manager. She also worked at the Cleveland Heights University Heights Library and at Cuyahoga County Public Library where she completed her practicum. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Kenyon College and her master’s in library science from Kent State University. She also reviews juvenile and youth fiction for School Library Journal.
