Geauga County Director Named Regional President

Adventures in Northeast Ohio is a Regional Tourism Organization that brings tourism professionals together from 19 counties in the north east corner of Ohio, and their new president is no stranger to the office. Lynda Nemeth, Geauga County Tourism Director, accepted the presidency at the December 3 meeting at Stan Hywett Hall and will begin her reign at the group’s strategic planning retreat in January.

Nemeth becomes the first two time president of the group with this appointment, having served the group as President in 2008. “It’s exciting, and such an honor,” says Nemeth. “The diversity of this group really symbolizes the diversity of Northeast Ohio. Just as exciting is the way the group works together to work toward the common goal of promoting our area as a destination. This is what has kept me active with this group for the past 17 years. Together we attend trade shows, do co-op advertising, host a Media Day, network, have educational speakers at our meetings, and so much more.”

Adventures in Northeast Ohio meets monthly and their meetings are held somewhere within those 19 participating counties, which often does create the sense of adventure. Nemeth says, “We have met in hotels, restaurants, on boats, trains, in barns, wineries, museums, parks, you name it. We are always ready to explore a new venue!” For more information on destinations to visit this summer, visit this website.
