Geauga County – November 5, 2020 – GCPL’s new Thompson Branch opened on Thurs., Oct. 29. Locations, contact, and hours are as follows:

Tuesday – Thursday 9 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Friday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Saturday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
The new Thompson Branch will provide greater access to the entire community, with longer service hours, more computer access, and additional program opportunities and programming space. The collection will also be expanded.
Other highlights include:

- Two study rooms
- Frances Spatz Leighton Reading
- Children’s storytime patio
Please keep in mind that we are currently offering these in-building services only:
- Walk-through browsing
- Computer access for one 2-hour session per day – reservation required. Staff assistance is highly restricted.
- Holds pick-ups
“We are beyond excited to see the new Thompson Branch come to fruition. While we wish the current situation allowed for a grander opening, we are still thrilled to know that this bright, dynamic space will be available to our community for generations to come,” says GCPL Director Ed Worso.
In-person programming and face-to-face assistance with personal devices will not be available. Public use of meeting and study rooms is also restricted until further notice.
GCPL requires masks for all staff and patrons. The maximum occupancy of all buildings will be reduced. All seating will be restricted to computer use or ADA compliance. Public computers will be arranged to allow for at least 6 feet of distance between patrons.
