Geauga Growth Partnership Discusses Health Reform

The Geauga Growth Partnership announced additional speakers for its Third Annual Meeting on June 6. The following local experts will participate on a panel dealing with healthcare reform, one of the most confusing challenges facing businesses and other employers.

The newly announced speakers are:

Small Employer: Ike Tripp, President of Etna Products (Bainbridge). Etna has taken a pro-active stance on managing its health care costs. Ike will explain what Etna is doing.

Large Employer: Dave Lair, Geauga County Administrator. The County has actively utilized health & wellness programs and group purchasing. Dave will explain the County’s management approach.

Healthcare Provider: Julie Novak, Director of Operations and Accreditation for the UH Geauga Medical Center, will explain how healthcare reform is affecting the delivery of hospital and outpatient services to Geauga County employees and what to expect in the near future.

Healthcare Broker and Consultant: Bill Fisher, Director of Business Development, The Oswald Companies, will explain how employers in Northeast Ohio are coping with healthcare reform and what their successful strategies are.

Audience Q and A will follow these comments and provide the opportunity to learn more about what leading employers and providers are doing to navigate the challenges of healthcare reform.

These speakers will join Tom Waltermire, CEO of TeamNEO, who will describe the outlook for the Northeast Ohio regional economy and a program honoring the 22 Geauga high school students who will hold GGP summer internships with Geauga employers.

The event will be held on June 6 at the Fowlers Mill Golf Course and is sponsored by Middlefield Cheese, the UH Geauga Medical Center, Great Lakes Cheese, Honest Scales Recycling, FirstEnergy, The Oswald Companies, Raymond James & Co., Etna Products, Sheoga Hardwood Flooring & Paneling, Federal Improvement Corp., Geauga Credit Union, and Troy Innovative Instruments.
