Geauga Growth Partnership Welcomes 2017 Summer Intern!

Geauga Growth Partnership is pleased to introduce our 2017 high school summer intern. Deanna Swinerton, after the involved application and interview process, she was selected as part of GGP’s High School Internship program Deanna graduated from West Geauga High School this past spring and is excited to have earned this opportunity. She hopes to gain useful work experience along with communication and networking skills that will continue to benefit her long after the summer is over.

“This internship will provide valuable insight to the business world and will give me a head start going into college and eventually the workforce,” says Ms. Swinerton.

In the fall she plans to attend Cleveland State University and major in Business Economics while also competing on CSU’s Women’s Cross Country and Track teams.

The Geauga Growth Partnership High School Internship Program was launched the summer of 2012 by the GGP Internship Task Force. The goal is to match high school juniors and seniors with sponsoring businesses who provide paid summer internships designed to give students a comprehensive real-world experience in the workplace. The purpose of Geauga Growth Partnership’s Internship program is to “Prepare Tomorrow’s Workforce Today.”

This year, 29 students were placed with employers all over Geauga County for work experiences in fields such as industry, health, publication, construction, government, business, and many more. Interns will be employed through the summer and will also participate in workforce training workshops through Geauga Growth Partnership in July.

Geauga Growth Partnership is a 501 (C) 3 non-profit organization created in 2010, which works to retain and grow jobs, contribute to business growth and strengthen the local economy.
