Geauga Growth Partnership Welcomes 2018 Summer Intern Margaret (Maggie) Murray

Geauga Growth Partnership is pleased to introduce our 2018 high school summer intern Margaret (Maggie) Murray. After the intensive application and interview process, she was selected as part of GGP’s High School Internship program. Maggie, a resident of Chardon, is a rising senior who attends Hawken Upper School in Gates Mills.

Maggie enjoys playing the baritone saxophone in her school jazz band and making videos in and outside of school. She recently created a documentary for the National History Day contest and placed as a top 20 finalist at the national level after winning 1st at the regional and state competitions. She is ecstatic to begin working with the GGP team and hopes to gain valuable insight into the inner workings of small businesses in Geauga County.

The Geauga Growth Partnership High School Internship Program was launched the summer of 2012 by the GGP Internship Task Force. The goal is to match high school juniors and seniors with sponsoring businesses who provide paid summer internships designed to give students a comprehensive real-world experience in the workplace. The purpose of Geauga Growth Partnership’s Internship program is to “Prepare Tomorrow’s Workforce Today.”

This year 25 students from 11 Geauga County Schools have been placed in internships with 17 different companies in Geauga County. These students will have work experiences in fields such as industry, health, publication,  construction, government, business, and many more. Interns will be employed through the summer and will also participate in workforce training workshops through GGP in July.
