The Geauga Growth Partnership is hosting an Open House for interested parents and students on November 14, 2013, at Kent State Geauga from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The paid Summer Internship program is open to all junior and senior residents of Geauga County. The program is supported by 10 Geauga County schools and includes private and home schooled students.
At this time, there are 25 Geauga County businesses offering 35 intern positions. The interns are exposed to many areas of business during their internship which is 7 to 8 weeks long. The students come away with knowledge of a Geauga County business operation and a better sense of what the business world is about.
The program includes three Soft Skill sessions presented by business leaders including:
- resume writing
- the interview process
- use of social media
The Open House will be hosted by Lee Imhof, President, Troy Chemical Inc. and Chairman of the Internship Task Force. Sponsoring businesses will be present to briefly describe their offered position and answer questions from the parents and students.
If you are able to attend, please respond to me by email, gklemencic@geaugagrowth.com.
Thank you for your interest and support.
