Geauga Park District Quarterly Calendar

“Going to the woods is going home.” – John Muir

We have invited you all year long to Come Home to Nature in your Geauga Park District, and here are our final offerings for 2016: introducing our October, November and December programs.

Who was John Muir? John Muir (1838-1914) was America’s most famous and influential naturalist and conservationist who taught the importance of experiencing and protecting our natural heritage. Also known for journalism, he was a writer and advocate of U.S. forest conservation. His activism helped to preserve the Yosemite Valley, Sequoia National Park and other wilderness areas. And his legend lives on through The Sierra Club, a prominent American conservation organization, which he founded. This August 25 marks 100 years for the National Park Service. Join us in celebrating the incredible conservationists of our past by Coming Home to Nature in your Geauga Park District.
