Geauga Park District’s Natural Resource Management Invites you to Celebrate Earth Day Extravaganza on April 27

Of course we encourage you to live every day like Earth Day – but for the actual Earth Day, we like to do something a little extra special.

Geauga Park District’s Natural Resource Management staff invites you to celebrate Earth Day locally through its free, interactive Earth Day Extravaganza on Saturday, April 27th from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at The West Woods!

Planned family-friendly activities include: amphibian/reptile displays, bird banding, wildlife presentations, a wild edible cooking demonstration, a garlic mustard challenge with prize baskets, food for sale by the Wrap It Up Food Truck, a plant giveaway, free native meadow mix starter kits, artwork created from recycled materials by local artisans on display/for sale, a pinecone bird feeder craft for kids and more!

Bat expert Maria Monarchino will be featured discussing the ecological importance of Red Bats in Ohio. Other presentation topics include: Lake Erie Allegheny Plateau Regional Vision, Backyard Benefits from Trees and Plants, The Gourmet Game Warden, The American Chestnut Tree Story, Partnering to Protect and Restore the Chagrin River Watershed and Good Nature Organic Lawn Care.

No advance sign-up required, so anyone can stop in during the event at any time! For a complete schedule of presentations and activities, please visit www.geaugaparkdistrict.org under Activities, then Special Events & Art Shows.

The West Woods is located at 9465 Kinsman Road (Route 87) in Russell Township. With questions, please call 440-286-9516.
